Mogilev Oblast, Russia’s Primorsky Krai to develop investment cooperation

Mogilev Oblast and Russia’s Primorsky Krai will focus on the development of economic cooperation. Such agreements were reached at the meeting of Chairman of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee Leonid Zayats and the delegation of Primorsky Krai led by Governor Oleg Kozhemyako in Mogilev, BelTA informs.

This is a familiarization visit of the Primorsky Krai delegation to Mogilev Oblast. When Oleg Kozhemyako was the governor of Amur Oblast, the region also worked with Belarus. The sides implemented joint projects to develop agribusiness in the Russian region. In particular, an animal husbandry facility was built using Belarusian technologies. And it is productive and efficient today.
“We have already accumulated experience, and now we want to use it in Primorsky Krai,” Oleg Kozhemyako remarked. “Belarusian agrarians can help develop seed production, potato farming, growing of berries and vegetables. We need Belarusian farming equipment adapted to our conditions. We would also like to open Belarusian trading houses in Primorsky Krai. Our people like the quality of Belarusian products.”

Leonid Zayats, in turn, stressed that Mogilev Oblast is open for cooperation with Primorsky Krai across the board. “First of all, we are interested in deeper economic integration between the two regions, in the development of new cooperation ties and enhancement of existing contacts between manufacturing enterprises. We are interested in investment cooperation, creation of an efficient commodity distribution network,” the governor said. “We are also ready to bolster relations in education, culture, tourism.
While in Mogilev Oblast, Russian guests will visit OAO Migilevliftmash where they will mull over the delivery of elevators to Primorsky Krai, familiarize themselves with the production process at OAO Babushkina Krynka. The sides also plan to discuss the prospects of selling Mogilev Oblast’s municipal and farming equipment to Russian partners, opening of a transport and logistics center at the premises of the Mogilev airport with the participation of a Russian investor.

After the talks plans have been made to sign a protocol of intention between Mogilev Oblast and Primorsky Krai. After that the sides will begin preparations for the signing of a similar agreement in 2020.
