MINSK, 7 May (BelTA) - Belarus hopes to sign agreements with China on 160 projects at the November expo in Shanghai, Belarus Economy Minister Vladimir Zinovsky said in an interview with the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA informs.

“We have received a response from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce on 160 projects, agreements on which we are going to sign at the Shanghai exhibition in November. These potential 160 projects can be invested through China to be implemented in our country,” the minister said.

According to Vladimir Zinovsky, this doe not only concern investments in the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park, but also the implementation of investment proposals in the regions. “There is every chance to develop not at the expense of credit resources, but through China’s investment,” he added.

The Belarusian Economy Ministry is currently busy with working out an industrialization plan, which will comprise 1,700 investment projects, including proposals of district executive committees, oblast executive committees, and ministries. “The most important thing is to find investments in these enterprises,” the minister stressed.

The implementation of the projects will allow developing in Belarus such fields as IT, robotics, biotechnologies, and healthcare. “There are a number of new areas where we could expand our participation, including small business,” Vladimir Zinovsky said.

As BelTA reported earlier, the first China International Import Expo will take place Shanghai on 5-10 November 2018. This large-scale event will be open for participation to every country. The total area of the expo will be about 240,000 square meters, including 30,000 square meters allocated for national pavilions. The main organizers of the expo are the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Shanghai in cooperation with the World Trade Organization and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.
