Over 20 large innovative facilities to open in Belarus in 2019
Plans are in place to set up over 20 large innovative manufacturing facilities in Belarus in 2019, Chairman of the Belarusian State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus Aleksandr Shumilin told journalists.
“We are planning to open more than 20 new manufactures. This number includes only large enterprises. It would be much higher if we added small and medium-size ones,” Aleksandr Shumilin said. He added that Belarus has witnessed robust development of small innovative enterprises, the IT sector, a lot of startups.
As for new manufactures, this year Belarus intends to launch an automated production of complex curved multilayer glass for transport vehicles at the KUVO glass plant. The Orsha tool-making plant will launch a metal-cutting and auxiliary tools production facility with the use of innovative technologies. Brest Electric Lamp Plant will start producing LED light equipment. Several other hi-tech projects are currently under development.
