As of May 3, 286 veterans of the Great Patriotic War lived in the Mogilev region. This was reported by the Committee on Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee.

Among those who keep in their hearts the memories of the tragic pages of our history, there are 36 invalids and 128 participants in the war; five took part in the demining of territories and objects as part of special formations after liberation from German occupation; 89 people were awarded orders and medals of the USSR for selfless labor and impeccable military service in the rear during the war; four worked at air defense facilities, the construction of defensive structures, naval bases, airfields and other military facilities within the rear borders of active fronts, on the front-line sections of railways and highways; 24 worked at enterprises, institutions and organizations of Leningrad during the blockade from September 8, 1941 to January 27, 1944 and were awarded the medal "For the Defense of Leningrad", and persons

As the interlocutors said, the employees of the territorial centers of social services of the population in the current year surveyed the material and living conditions of all veterans, promptly resolved issues of their life arrangement. Together with volunteers of city and regional organizations of the Belarusian Red Cross Society, public associations “Belarusian Republican Youth Union”, “Belaya Rus”, “Belarusian Union of Women” provided the necessary social and household assistance to 180 veterans. Including 29 people were taken for social services, 32 received medical assistance, 15 received care with payment of benefits, 65 were provided with fuel and food, 87 received assistance in cleaning living quarters, 41 - household plots.

Financial assistance in the amount of Br552 from the Social Protection Fund of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Belarus was received by 5 veterans, and 192 who did not use the right to free spa treatment or health improvement in 2020 received financial assistance in the amount of Br270 each.

The interlocutors added that in all districts of the Dnieper region, working groups have been created to provide effective comprehensive assistance to veterans of the Great Patriotic War, and they are celebrated at their place of residence.

In addition, the campaigns "Clean House", "Veteran Lives Nearby", "Holiday at the Veteran's House", "Thank you for the Victory" are held. At the initiative of Eurotorg LLC and with the support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, gifts were handed over to all districts of the Mogilev region where the veterans live. In the Goretsk district center of social services for the population, a remote zonal competition "To the glory of the heroes of our land" was organized, in the Kostyukovichi district center of social services for the population, a regional remote festival "Songs of the War Years" dedicated to the Year of National Unity and the 76th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War ... In Bobruisk, Chaussky, Cherikovsky districts and the city of Bobruisk, veterans meet with students of educational institutions in the framework of the action "The military generation - a peaceful generation" in Goretsky and Mogilev districts - motor rallies "The Roads of Victory", "Roads of Memory. Roads of the World ".

The committee emphasized that within the framework of events dedicated to Victory Day, veterans and citizens equated to them are already receiving congratulations and gifts from the leadership of cities (districts) and labor collectives at home.
