Karpenko: Education system should serve the interests of individual, society, state
The education system should evolve in the best interests of the individual, the society and the state, Belarus' Education Minister Igor Karpenko said at the plenary session of the National Pedagogical Conference on 24 August, BelTA has learned.
“Education is a multi-tier, complex system that permeates all spheres of human life. It is for a reason that Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko pays so much attention to it. There is no doubt that the education system should develop and improve in the interests of the individual, the society and the state,” Igor Karpenko said.
This approach is at the heart of educational reforms formalized by the draft Education Code and the draft Education System Development Concept until 2030. “These documents were available for a large audience to see, were widely discussed with MPs, heads of government bodies, teachers, school and university students, representatives of the general public,” the minister said.
