Work underway to establish CIS Human Rights Commission
The fifth meeting of the expert group on the establishment of the Human Rights Commission of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held via videoconference on 27 January, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.
Taking part in the videoconference were representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the CIS Executive Committee.
The CIS experts discussed the draft provisions of the Human Rights Commission of the Commonwealth, as well as proposals related to application processing and decision-making by the commission and other issues regulating its activities.
The participants of the videoconference decided to continue working on the draft provisions of the CIS Human Rights Commission and hold another meeting of the expert group in Minsk on 17 March.
